The mission of the Downtown Asheville Arts District (DAAD) is to promote visual and performing arts in downtown Asheville, NC. With over 30 members, DAAD is comprised of cultural centers, festivals, galleries, museums, retail shops, theatres, and tours -- all located within a mile radius of historic downtown Asheville.

Benjamin Walls is an acclaimed artist, modern environmentalist, and progressive entrepreneur. His artwork has received seven international awards, been exhibited in dozens of museums, and raised over $500,000 for conservation. The gallery also features selections from his luxury travel brand WALLSabout™ and fine wine brand WALLSwines™.

OAsheville Emporium has a thoughtful product mix with artists and makers ranging from local to global. Our Photo Booth with fun props is a big hit. Summer of 2020 will see a launch of our new studio where guests of all ages and abilities can make cool stuff.

Founded in 1988, AGA is a 31-member cooperative. We display the finest works of art from artists in the Asheville area, while allowing the customer to experience the gallery at their own pace; whether it's with detailed guidance or an intimate and private stroll.

Blue Spiral 1 exhibits work by fine artists and object makers in a light-filled, 15,000 square-foot gallery spanning three floors. The gallery maintains an extensive exhibition schedule, presenting over 25 shows annually. Thematic group exhibitions and individual artist showcases rotate in the Main and Lower Level galleries every other month, while the gallery's Upper Level features a wide array of works by over 100 represented artists

Housed in an original art deco storefront, Horse and Hero specializes in neoappalachian art and craft that is design-minded, worldwise and rooted in the craftways and culture of our southern Appalachian mountains.

The Refinery is located in the south slope and is a collection of artist studios. The Refinery is a host for local arts organizations and individual artists. Artists in The Refinery include jewelers, ceramic artists, photographers, painters, textile artists, makers and more.
